| Korean Beauty Secrets |
We set out to discover the skincare and makeup secrets that Korean ladies rely on to achieve that sheeny glow, or mul-gwang. We enlisted the help of three beauty bloggers who are more knowledgeable about Korean beauty than most. You can begin the Korean beauty regimen by doing the following:
Step 1: Apply an oil-based cleanser to your skin.
The first step in this 10-step Korean skin care programme is to remove makeup and debris with an oil cleanser.
Oil-based cleansers are gentler on the skin than traditional cleansers. They degrade oil-based cosmetics, sunscreen, and other contaminants. These cleansers are also good at removing water-resistant sunscreens.
Apply a tiny amount of the product on your face in circular motions. Circular motions of cleansing also enhance blood flow, which is necessary for healthy skin and allows cells to carry out their duties smoothly. This keeps your skin looking young and healthy!
Cleanse for 2-3 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water. To reduce skin irritation and allergic reactions, it is best to combine essential oils with a carrier oil.
Step 2: Cleanse Once More!
The first stage in the practise is to remove any oil-based contaminants. The second step is to use a foaming/water-based cleanser to remove the accumulated sweat and debris. Cleaning your face twice will help eliminate dirt, grime, sweat, and oil-based pollutants.
Apply a squirt or two of the cleanser to your skin and gently massage it in. It is critical to use a pH-balancing cleaner to avoid removing your skin barrier. Make sure those essential oils are secured inside your skin!
Exfoliate Your Skin in Step 3
A light scrub that is appropriate for your skin type should suffice. Exfoliation is the process of eliminating dead skin cells from your skin. This technique will make your skin look brighter and firmer. It also helps to improve the overall texture and tone of your skin.
Take a tiny bit of your product in your palm and gently roll it on your face in a circular motion. After a minute or two, wash it off.
Step 4: Apply the Toner
A toner is used to eliminate any remaining dirt from your face and to balance the pH levels of your skin. Toners, on the other hand, tend to reduce the amount of oil in your skin, making it feel dry and tight. Toners containing alcohol should be avoided.
Toners with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and other helpful compounds have recently been introduced. They are also more hydrating and relaxing than traditional alcohol-based ones.
Purchase a toner that is appropriate for your skin type.
Place a few drops of your toner on your fingers and gently pat it into your skin. A cotton pad can also be used.
Step 5 - The Latest Trend - Essence
An essence is one of the most important components of the Korean skincare regimen. It provides the best of both worlds by soothing and repairing your skin at the same time. An essence contains moisturising elements and promotes cell turnover.
Take a few drops of the product onto your fingers and gently pat it into your skin.
Use a Serum/Ampoule/Booster in Step 6
Your skin is now clear, and it is ready to absorb the more crucial substances. A face serum is a stronger, more concentrated version of an essence. It mostly contains active compounds that target certain skin concerns such as wrinkles, pigmentation, and dark spots.
This stage in the Korean skincare regimen is intended to boost general skin health as well.
Squeeze a small amount of the product onto your palm and gently pat it into your skin.
Step 7: Apply a Sheet Mask
This Korean cosmetic product has swept the market. Sheet masks are soaked in serum and are high in vitamins and minerals. They are also very moisturising, leaving your skin soft and supple.
Sheet masks are typically of a standard size, designed to fit all face shapes and sizes. Apply it to your face, gently patting it in a circle around your eyes and lips. Allow it to sit for 20-30 minutes. Sheet masks are also a great way to refresh yourself before a party or function!
Step 8: Apply Eye Cream
Typically, the skin surrounding your eyes is the first to exhibit symptoms of age. Eye creams are designed specifically to treat your under-eyes and prevent wrinkles, dark circles, and crow's feet. They moisturise and soothe the skin around your eyes.
Apply a pea-sized amount of the product to the skin beneath your eyes and gently tap it in.
Step 9 – MoisturizeMoisturize!
The Koreans believe that this stage is crucial for securing the previous layers. It functions as an occlusive barrier to keep the previously applied items in place.
If you have oily skin, use a gentle lotion-based moisturiser. Apply a heavy cream-based moisturiser on dry skin to keep it from becoming irritated.
Apply a small amount of the cream/lotion/gel/spray to your skin and rub it in gently. Massage your skin in circular circles for 10-15 minutes.
